Line and Form
by Walter Crane
Book design by Jenna Agres
Line and Form by Walter Crane is a reference text from 1900 with quintessential art and design principles that are still relevant to this day. The text is filled with illustrations that explore methods and approaches to line and form.
I discovered this text while perusing Project Gutenberg’s art books section. As an artist and designer myself, this book speaks to my love of all things art, design, craft, and references to art history. I wanted to challenge myself by designing and setting a nonfiction book with lots of full-color images while making a contemporary update to a book of timeless art and design concepts.
